An oasis in the Prairies awaits your next family vacation. The Saskatchewan capital of Regina is a small city in relation to say Calgary or Winnipeg, but it has all the amenities that make it a fun and interesting family destination.  See for yourself by staying at one of the best Regina hotels with pool and waterslide and visit some of these popular family-friendly Regina tourism events and activities.

Show your Love for Regina

Join Reginians as they show some civic pride for I Love Regina Day, Aug. 25 at Victoria Park, a public park in the centre of downtown. The day, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature fun for the whole family with a free barbecue, face painting, bounce castles, and other activities for kids.

Watch a Movie Under the Stars

Enjoy some family time at night by bringing your own blankets, chairs, pyjamas, and pillows to enjoy family-friendly movies at Cinema Under the Stars at Victoria Park.

Pre-show entertainment, with children’s music, crafts, kid-friendly activities and more, starts at 8 p.m. Featured films screens at dusk. Upcoming movies include: Coco Aug. 15 and Black Panther Aug. 22.

Spend the Day at the Museum

We promise, your kids won’t be bored when visiting one of tourism Regina’s most popular places for families. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum features a number of fun and educational exhibits and is also home to a robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex named Megamunch, who has been famously greeting patrons to the museum since 1986.

The museum will be celebrating Megamunch’s 65,000,032nd birthday Aug. 18 from noon to 4 p.m. The museum is selling play-for-a-day wristbands for the occasion, which will have dinobouncers, dig pits, photobooth, games, crafts, and bubbles as well as hot dogs and snack available.

Get Your Kids to Be Creative

Regina is also known as a culturally stimulating city, and this includes a number of hands-on activities that kids can take part to get their creative juices flowing. The Red Fox Creative Studio offers a number of kids art classes, including a kids scarf making workshops for ages 10 and up.
